SS4 Coding Theory and Its Applications
Abstract:
This special session focuses on current directions in coding theory
and its applications, bringing together algebraic, combinatorial,
and computational perspectives. Topics include structured code
families such as algebraic geometry codes, rank-metric codes,
additive codes, and codes with rich automorphism groups, as well
as parameter determination and bounds (including
Delsarte/Levenshtein-type approaches and linear programming).
For ACA 2026, the session also considers themes related to quantum
error-correcting codes and their applications, including
connections with design theory (e.g., combinatorial designs
arising from code structures, incidence structures, and symmetry).
It also considers the covering radius and its generalizations,
exact and computational results for special families, and related
optimization and bounding techniques.
The session aims to foster interaction among researchers working
on theoretical developments, computational evidence, and
application-driven problems in classical and quantum coding theory.
